PlugStream 7S and 7T receive OZEV approval
Approval for residential and commercial chargepoint grant schemes

We're pleased to confirm that PlugStream 7S and PlugStream 7T have received approval from the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) for residential and commercial chargepoint grant schemes.
The Department for Transport confirmed the successful application in a letter dated 20 October 2026. Homeowners, installers and workplace project teams can now include an OZEV-approved PlugStream 7 model in their plans, subject to the rules of the relevant grant scheme.
Which PlugStream chargers are approved?
The approval covers these two models:
- PlugStream 7S, model PS-7S: a Type 2 socket for a separate charging cable.
- PlugStream 7T, model PS-7T: an integrated 7m Type 2 charging cable.
Both are 7.4kW smart AC chargers. Choose the 7S for the flexibility of a separate cable, or the 7T if you prefer to keep a lead ready at your parking space. You can compare the two models before choosing.
The letter confirms that these chargepoints meet OZEV's residential minimum technical specification and commercial minimum technical specification. This approval applies specifically to PS-7S and PS-7T.
What does approval mean for your installation?
Chargepoint approval is one part of a grant application. Funding also depends on who is applying, the property, the installation and the conditions of the scheme, including any installer authorisation requirements.
Before ordering or starting work, review the current OZEV chargepoint grant guidance with your installer. It sets out the available routes for homes, landlords and workplaces, including the Workplace Charging Scheme.
The approval letter also requires a minimum operational life of three years and a three-year warranty covering parts and labour. Make sure the warranty arrangements are clear in your installation and handover paperwork.
