EV chargers are practical products, but they also sit in very visible places: driveways, shared parking bays, apartment blocks, workplace car parks, and customer-facing destinations. That is why we are introducing a wider set of coloured face plates for the PlugStream 7 family, giving customers and installers more choice when matching a charger to the property around it.
The new PlugStream 7 face plate palette includes Black, Dark Grey, Light Grey, Desert Sand, Dark Red, and Navy Blue. The pictured examples show the socketed PlugStream 7S, and the same colour palette is available for the tethered PlugStream 7T.
A finish that fits the install
Some installations call for a quiet, understated charger that sits back against brickwork, render, cladding, or timber. Others need a stronger finish that feels deliberate on a modern exterior or a commercial site.
The expanded colour range is designed to make those decisions easier:
- Black for a crisp, familiar finish that works across most locations.
- Dark Grey for a softer alternative to black on modern homes and commercial buildings.
- Light Grey for lighter walls, pale render, and clean contemporary settings.
- Desert Sand for warmer exterior materials, timber, stone, and softer architectural palettes.
- Dark Red for a more distinctive finish where the charger should feel intentional rather than hidden.
- Navy Blue for a deep, polished colour option that pairs well with darker trims and modern detailing.
Same PlugStream 7 platform, more visual choice
The colour update does not change the role of the products themselves. PlugStream 7S remains the socketed 7.4kW option for flexible cable choice, shared bays, and changing vehicle needs. PlugStream 7T remains the tethered 7.4kW option for drivers who want the cable ready every day.
Both models continue to sit on the same PlugStream platform, with smart charging features, solar-aware charging support, automatic load management, over-the-air updates, and open-platform readiness through OCPP.
Useful for homes, shared parking, and project rollouts
Colour choice matters most when a charger is part of a wider environment. A homeowner may want the unit to blend with a front elevation. A developer may want a consistent finish across several bays. A workplace or destination site may want chargers that look intentional without feeling visually heavy.
By offering the same colour palette across PlugStream 7S and PlugStream 7T, projects can keep a consistent look while still choosing the right connector format for each charging bay.
